Intel gets more involved with embedded Linux
Intel has joined the Open Source Automation Development Lab (OSADL). The processor manufacturer wants to strengthen its presence in embedded systems with it's new processors. Other new OSADL members include Sysgo and SERCOS. Sysgo is known for it's PikeOS virtualisation RTOS platform and it's ELinOS embedded Linux distribution. SERCOS is the organisation behind the real-time Ethernet Standard – SERCOS III.
The OSADL is a consortium that promotes the use of Linux and open source software on embedded systems, especially in machine and plant control. The organisation will be at the "Open Source meets Industry" conference at the Hannover Messe with its new members on the 22nd of April.
