InfraRecorder One year after the release of version 0.50, the InfraRecorder project has released an update to its open source CD and DVD burning application for Windows. InfraRecorder was started in 2006 during the Google Summer of Code by developer Christian Kindahl and uses the cdrtools software library for recording data to discs.

The latest 0.51 maintenance update features support for burning files from UNC paths, adds a new context menu to the explorer tree view and increases the maximum FIFO buffer size from 128 MB to 800 MB. InfraRecorder will now flash the task bar once an operation has been completed. Other changes include new French language translations and various bug fixes, including an issue that would cause desktop icons on Windows 7 to disappear.

More details about the release can be found in the change log. InfraRecorder 0.51 is available to download for Windows 2000 or later from the project's site. InfraRecorder is hosted on SourceForge and is licensed under version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv3).
