London Perl Workshop
London Perl Workshop
The London Perl Workshop will be on Saturday, 5th of December and is to be held at the Westminster University's New Cavendish Campus. This year's theme for LPW is "Beginning Perl" and The London Perl Workshop plans to have a number of talks and two workshops: one on Skills in the Workplace and the other on Enlightened Perl Projects. LPW organiser, Mark Keating, a board member of the Enlightened Perl Organisation, told The H "everyone is welcome and the conference is aimed at all people including people who may be new to Perl and programming".

The event will be free thanks to its sponsors though, in keeping with the unconventional nature of the London Perl community and with an eye on keeping costs down, there will be no free t-shirts or supplied food, but Keating plans to have t-shirts available on spreadshirt.net so attendees can purchase them in advance.

There will also be no Wi-Fi at the event partly, according to the FAQ, because "it's rude to type during someone's talk and when you're out of talks you should be socialising :)". There will be a "beer-in-the-evening" get-together after the conference with a sponsored "first round". The organisers have issued a call for papers and request proposals for speakers by Friday, November 6th.
