GroundWork Logo US network management software vendor GroundWork Open Source (GWOS) has released version 6.3 of its GroundWork Monitor Enterprise Edition system and network monitoring suite. According to the San Francisco-based company, the latest release of its flagship product is targeted at service providers running complex infrastructures and includes several new capabilities.

GroundWork Monitor Enterprise Edition 6.3, which now includes the Cacti network graphing project, features enhanced capabilities for monitoring large-scale networks. Discussing the inclusion of Cacti, GWOS Senior Director of Product Management Simon Bennett said that, "This change complements the existing data collection mechanisms already included in GWOS Monitor and enables customers to effectively monitor their entire IT infrastructure from server, network, application and user perspectives with a single solution". Other new features include the addition of audible alarms for events, improved Java support for monitoring applications using the Oracle WebLogic 10 environment and various new dashboard options, including a new filtering option that allows users to customise their views.

More details about the release, including a full list of bug fixes, new features and other improvements, can be found on the What's New In GroundWork Monitor Enterprise 6.3 page. The entry-level Enterprise QuickStart package starts at $49 (£30.75) per year. The open source Community Edition is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2).
