The new version of the graphical "Y PPA Manager" can now be used under KDE, as the developers have integrated code to support kdesudo, a component that allows programs to be executed at root privilege level.

Under Ubuntu, "Y PPA Manager" enables users to manage PPA (Personal Package Archive) repositories and search the PPAs that are hosted on Launchpad. PPA repositories contain software that is not included by default in Ubuntu and the latest stable and developer versions of popular applications. Even "Y PPA Manager" itself is installed on users' hard disks from a PPA repository: installation instructions can be found on the project's Launchpad page.

According to the announcement, some minor problems still exist under KDE: for example, the notifications in the KDE panel's system area don't function properly yet. The developers have added an option that allows all missing GPG keys to be imported in one go. There is also, as yet untested, Linux Mint 12 support. "Y PPA Manager" is licensed under the GNU GPLv3.
