What will Java's father be brewing at Google?
James Gosling, father of the Java programming language, has announced that he has begun working at Google. In a blog posting, Gosling disclosed little of what his new job is but describes it as "the road more travelled by" and that it "looks like interesting fun with huge leverage".

Gosling resigned from Oracle almost a year ago after Oracle completed its acquisition of Sun. Since then he has been on an apparent career break, though he says he had "a hard time saying 'no' to a bunch of other excellent possibilities" during that time, though he has commented on Oracle's management of Sun and its patent case against his new employer over Android's Dalvik virtual machine. He follows other former Sun employees such as Tim Bray, co-inventor of XML, who joined Google just over a year ago as an Android developer advocate.
