Google's Android Market adds "Related" tab
Google has added a new "Related" tab to the top of individual application pages in its Android Market. The addition of the new tab, sometimes labelled instead as "Similar" depending on the device, is intended to make it easier for users to find applications related to their current search, or to apps they may already have installed. According to Android Central, the updated version of the Android Market has silently been pushed out to Android devices running version 2.2, code named "Froyo".
The addition of the new tab is just the latest change to the Android market in recent months following criticism from developers in July of this year. In mid-October Google updated the Android market for older versions of the open source mobile operating system, including Android 2.1 and 1.6, by adding features previously only available to Android 2.2 users, such as a new tabbed layout for individual applications and the ability to automatically update apps. Early last month, the developers added a new "Recent Changes" feature and, towards the end of November, announced that the Android Market would gain content ratings for all applications and games.
