Google has announced the launch of the beta phase of its new service, Android Training. This covers a variety of areas with detailed lessons explaining different aspects of Android programming. The Android Developer team says that "Each class explains the steps required to solve a problem, or implement a feature, with plenty of code snippets and sample code for you to use within your own apps."

Among other topics, there is guidance on designing apps for various display sizes, optimising battery life, sharing content, developing for an enterprise, and how to make money from app development. In the coming months the range of training will be extended with additional material including more classes and sample apps for each topic.
