GNU Logo The glibc developers have announced the release of version 2.15 of the GNU C Library. The new version fixes a significant number of bugs and adds two new Linux interfaces (process_vm_readv and process_vm_writev). The biggest improvements come in the area of optimisation, however, with many operations being improved throughout the code. This release also adds four new locales, including support for the Native American Unami language, which, according to Wikipedia, is extinct.

The GNU C Library is the C library used by most systems that are based on the Linux kernel. It is licensed under the LGPL and the source code can be obtained from the GNU web site.
