Sun Microsystems has released version 0.9.9 of the GlassFish Tools Bundle for Eclipse. The release is the first release candidate of version 1.0. With it, developers can develop applications with Eclipse and deploy them to a GlassFish Server. The software package contains version 3.4.1 of Eclipse with Enterprise Java support, GlassFish Server 2.1 and GlassFish Server 3 Prelude and – optionally – the Java Development Kit 1.6 Update 12. The release also contains the most recent GlassFish plug-in for Eclipse.

The code for the largely stable distribution is being released under the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) version 1.0 and the GNU Public License (GPL) version 2 with the "ClassPath" extension. The Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE) falls under the Eclipse Public License (EPL).

More details about version 0.9.9 can be found in the release notes. According to the roadmap, version 1.0 of the GlassFish Tools Bundle for Eclipse is expected to be released "shortly".
