The GNOME project has announced that the next GUADEC, the annual GNOME conference, will be held in The Hague, in the Netherlands. The conference will run from the 24th to the 30th of July 2010 and the organisers expect around five hundred attendees to participate in the discussions about the future of the GNOME project. The Hague was selected for the eleventh year of the conference on the basis of the "excellent facilities" at the chosen site, the Haagse Hogeschool (The Hague University of Applied Sciences).

It was also selected for it's easy accessibility for those travelling to the conference. Last year's GUADEC, held in Gran Canaria, was part of a joint conference held in conjunction with the KDE Project, creating the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit. 2010's GUADEC conference will be an independent event, but the GNOME project says it is still open to the idea of joint conferences in the future. A web site for GUADEC 2010 is now open, but currently has few details beyond the announcement; the call for papers and registration details are planned to be published by January 6th.
