GNOME Foundation seeking new Executive Director
The GNOME Foundation has announced that it is looking for a new Executive Director. The non-profit Foundation coordinates development of the GNOME platform, an open source desktop environment that is part of the GNU Project, and acts as the official voice for the GNOME.
In November of last year, the Foundation's former Executive Director, Stormy Peters, announced that she was stepping down from the role to work for Mozilla, the non-profit organisation behind the popular open source Firefox web browser. Peters, a well-known free and open source software (FOSS) advocate, became the Foundation's executive director in mid-2008 and focused on several key areas, including marketing and fundraising.
