GCC to support Google's Go
The GNU Compiler Collection steering committee has announced that it will be supporting Google's Go language in GCC 4.5 or later. The inclusion of Google's Go language, with a gccgo front-end and gcc specific runtimes, will be managed and maintained by Google's Ian Taylor while the GCC release managers will handle the merging of the new code into the compiler collection.
The GCC announcement comes a day after an separate announcement by Taylor on the golang-nuts mailing list that the Go licence would now include an explicit patent grant.
