goJTAG Logo The goJTAG test system, consisting of a combination of hardware and software, is used to check that digital and analogue electronic components, such as populated PCBs, are free of errors. The source code for the software is available to download from the web site free of charge. The hardware needed to run goJTAG is also available free of charge after registering with Göpel electronic.

According to the group behind the project, goJTAG is intended to sweep away the barriers to entry posed by standard JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) test systems, which are often expensive and uneconomical. goJTAG has been jointly developed by the Tallinn and Ilmenau Universities of Technology (in Estonia and Germany respectively) and electronics companies Göpel and Testonica. The project's web site includes the software, its source code and a number of tutorials and e-learning tools developed by the universities to enable even lay users to get to grips with using a JTAG test system.

The joint Ilmenau University of Technology and Göpel electronic goJTAG project is supported by Thüringer Aufbaubank. Further funding has been provided by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research's Deutschland StipendiumGerman language link funding programme. Hosted on SourceForge, goJTAG source code is licensed under the GPL.
