The Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) is giving away three free Fellowship grants each month from November this year to October of 2010. These grants will be made to individuals that have rendered outstanding services to free software, such as programming, translating or administrating, but cannot afford the Fellowship contribution. In addition to receiving an @fsfe.org email forwarding alias and a personal login to the Fellowship web site, FSFE Fellows receive access to the FSFE instant messaging (IM) system and a personalised Open PGP crypto-card.

Normally, FSFE Fellowship requires payment of an annual contribution although the applicant has some choice over the level of that contribution. Those selected to receive the Fellowship grant will have their fee waved for one year thanks to donations from FSFE supporters.
