Gorilla Logic, an application development services and consulting firm, has released FlexMonkey 1.0, an open source tool for testing Adobe Flex and AIR applications. The testing tool optimises automated and unit testing of Adobe Flex Rich Internet applications (RIAs) and can record and playback Flex UI interactions to generate ActionScript-based testing scripts. These scripts are then used to test the GUI components of the Flex and AIR RIAs, ensuring that they function as intended. The scripts can be edited and the tests can either be run stand-alone, or in a browser.

User actions can be recorded using FlexMonkey and replayed for testing.

More details about the release can be found in the Gorilla Logic press releasePDF. FlexMonkey 1.0 requires Adobe AIR 1.5 or higher and is available to download as an .air install from the Gorilla Logic site, while the source code is available from the Google Code site. FlexMonkey code is released under the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2).
