Zoom Tiny Issue 1.0 in action

Zachary Hoover and Michael Hasselbring have open sourced Tiny Issue, a small, web based, issue tracking system that is designed to be simple and easy to use. Tiny issue is written in PHP and JavaScript and is licensed under the MIT License.

The issue tracker is built on top of the Laravel framework, uses MySQL 5+ as a backend database and requires JavaScript enabled in browsers as it makes heavy use of JavaScript in the user interface. Hoover says it was created because the pair was looking for a locally installable system that was less complicated than already available software. "The downloadable solutions we looked at were mostly overkill, too many options, too large a system, and really didn’t do what we want" said Hoover.

Version 1.0 of Tiny Issue can be downloaded from the project's GitHub repository. It runs, and has been tested, with PHP 5.3 and Apache or IIS.
