Only two weeks after the release of the source for Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, the Android-x86 project has released a first port for tablets with AMD Fusion processors that use an x86 core. The system is also designed to start on other x86 computers.

However, Android 4.0.1 for x86 is still at a very early development stage, only having drivers for Wi-Fi, multitouch and the OpenGL ES hardware of AMD Radeon chipsets. The developers say that it is still lacking many drivers, including those for wired Ethernet connections, cameras, sound, and hardware-accelerated graphics output on Intel graphics adapters. The project is therefore currently only offering one ISO image, for the AMD Brazos tablet, for download.

According to developer Chih-Wei Huang, posting in the android-x86 group, AMD "provides great support to us, including devices donation and engineer support" unlike Intel who "still refuses to provide any help to this project".
