Mozilla has confirmed that the release of the first beta for Firefox 3.6, code-named Namoroka, has been delayed by one week. Originally expected to be released on the 13th of October, Firefox 3.6 beta is now scheduled to be available on the 21st of October.

Firefox 3.6 is a minor update to Firefox 3.5 that is based on version 1.9.2 of the Gecko layout engine. It will include a number of improvements to the browser's TraceMonkey JavaScript engine and page rendering, optimised session restore and several new CSS additions. Users not wanting to wait for the beta to be released can download an early build of the release now.

According to the Mozilla Releases wiki, Firefox 3.5.4 and 3.0.15 are also scheduled to be released on the 21st of October.
