Among the features of Firefox 3.1 beta 2, one feature is currently only for MacBook laptop users; multi-touch. The new beta has added support for the Apple multi-touch trackpads, both new and old, to the browser. The feature, which was developed by Mozilla's Edward Lee as an experimental feature, has now made it into the beta build of Firefox 3.1. With the multitouch support, it is possible to pinch, to zoom in and out, swipe left and right, to navigate through the history and twist, to navigate through tabs.

Previously, the feature was only available in a "special build", but was incorporated into nightly builds in November and has been retained in the new beta. Oddly, the feature doesn't appear to be mentioned in the Firefox 3.1 beta 2 release notes, but the late addition will be welcomed by MacBook users.
