Fedora: Further release 13 delay & scholarship awarded
Originally scheduled for yesterday and some weeks ago already postponed until next Tuesday, the release of Fedora 13 has been postponed by a further week. This means that the Linux distribution, which is mainly sponsored by Red Hat, will now be released on the 25th of May. The further delay has been caused by various known "blocker" bugs the project intends to fix before releasing the new version. Such delays are the rule rather than the exception in Fedora – Fedora 11 and 12, for instance, were released two weeks later than originally planned (1, 2).
Yesterday, Red Hat and the Fedora project announced that this year, Ian Weller is to receive the annually awarded Fedora scholarship. Weller, who lives in Salina, Kansas, has contributed to the Fedora project for years. An interview with the developer can be found in the project's wiki.
