Fedora logo After being delayed for a week, the Fedora developers are on track to ship Fedora 17 next Tuesday 29 May. The developers held their final Go NoGo meeting to decide whether to ship or not and, after rejecting two bugs as blockers, gave the go-ahead for the release of the fourth RC of Fedora 17 as the final release.

Meanwhile, the Fedora ARM developers have also released a beta version of Fedora 17 ARM, releasing prebuilt images for the Trimslice, Beagleboard XM and iMX-based hardware platforms. The beta release also includes prebuilt images for QEMU, allowing users without an appropriate ARM device to try Fedora 17 ARM Beta in an emulator. One board missing from the beta release is the popular PandaBoard which has issues with Fedora 17's kernel; the developers plan to fix those issues before final release.
