Fedora 11 delayed

Red Hat's Jesse Keating has announced that the final release of Fedora 11, code name Leonidas, has been delayed by one week. The delay moves the final release date from the 26th of May to the 2nd of June. According to Keating the delay is due to 24 unresolved blocker bugs. The Release Candidate (RC) phase can't start until the blocker bugs are closed. The developers hope to enter the RC phase in the next few days in order to hit their new target of June 2nd. Such delays are normal for the Fedora Project, as previous releases have also been moved so that last minute bugs could first be corrected.

Planning for Fedora 12 has already begun. The developers have already started a list of accepted features and are now taking suggestions for a new name for the Fedora 12 release. As usual, the names must have a connection to the previous versions – Leonidas (Fedora 11) and Cambridge (Fedora 10), for example, are both names of ships in the U.S. Navy.
