Father of Java leaves Oracle

Just a few months after Sun's acquisition by Oracle, James Gosling, inventor of the Java programming language and Chief Technology Officer of Sun's Developer Products group, has left the company. In a post (cached version) on his blog, Gosling confirms that he resigned from Oracle on the 2nd of April. He also apologised to Tech Days attendees for not speaking last Thursday in St. Petersburg, Russia, adding that he "really hated not being there". Gosling says that he's unsure what he is going to do next but he is going to take some time off before he starts looking for another job.
Gosling doesn't give a reason for his departure from Oracle, but instead wrote, "Just about anything I could say that would be accurate and honest would do more harm than good." In January, the European Commission approved Oracle's acquisition of Sun Microsystems and Gosling published a farewell Sun blog post. In February, former Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz resigned, followed in March by SGML and XML expert Tim Bray and former Chief Open Source Officer at Sun Simon Phipps.
