Ad Bard logo According to a user of the Ad Bard advertising network, the company has informed them that the FLOSS (Free, Libre and Open Source Software) oriented ad network is closing. Launched in June 2009 with the support of the Free Software Foundation, the Ad Bard Network was created to provide ethical advertising for the free software community. The ad network would only accept "FLOSS-appropriate ads" where the advert did not suggest the use of proprietary software and was relevant to the FLOSS community.

According to a report on the Tech Drive-in which used Ad Bard as its advertising supplier, the network is being closed down. Tech Drive-in says it recently received its earnings report for May 2011 which included a note saying "We regret to inform you that we have decided to shut down the network on July 1st, 2011". The Ad Bard site currently says nothing about closing down. Email and calls to the company had not been returned at the time of writing.
