The recently released version 1.5.0 of FF Multi Converter includes a reworked graphical user interface and new functionality to select multiple files for conversion at once. The new user interface also includes drag & drop support. Developed by Ilias Stamatis, FF Multi Converter is an open source tool that aims to give users a way to easily and quickly convert files and documents between a number of different formats.

FF Multi Converter supports fine-grained control over the different output formats. Three tabs allow the user to tweak settings for audio/video formats, image files and documents separately. The tool supports multiple Microsoft Office document formats like DOC, XLS and PPT as well as a number of open document formats and other sources such as HTML, XML and plain text files. Many of these formats can be converted to PDF files as well. When converting video, FF Multi Converter offers several presets for playback on a number of mobile devices. The new version can also convert several files in parallel.

FF Multi Converter 1.5.0 is written in Python and PyQt and its source code is released under the GPLv3. The project's web site offers packages for Ubuntu, Mageia and Arch Linux.
