Eclipse Summit Europe 2009

This years Eclipse Summit Europe (ESE) will take place at the Forum am Schloßpark conference center in Ludwigsburg Germany next week, from the 27th to the 29th of October. This fourth annual summit will feature several workshops, lectures and demonstrations.

Highlights include a keynote by Microsoft's Don Syme on taking functional programming to the mainstream with examples using F# and a talk by Tony Bailetti from Carleton University about the open source ecosystem. Workshops include a section on cross platform development and testing, what's new in Eclipse 4 (e4) and OSGi best practices.

Advanced registration is open until the 24th of October for an all access pass at €450 (£406) . On site registration will cost €500 (£451) although Eclipse members, committers and alumni that have previously attended ESE or EclilpseCon will receive a 15 per cent discount. This years sponsors include the Open Source Business Foundation, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft.
