Ingres logo Ingres has announced EasyIngres, a packaging of PHP 5.29, Ingres 9.2 and Apache 2.2.8, to provide an easy to install development environment for Windows users. Billed by Ingres as a way to simplify a transition from MySQL, the package also includes the Ingres Developer Workbench, SciTE Editor 1.7.7 and the Frequent Flyer example application.

The package was assembled by Cédric Pasquotti, a French PHP developer who said "From the moment I worked on Ingres, I knew that as a community we could make it much easier for PHP developers to work in their environment" so that "In turn, we've made it significantly easier for PHP developers to make the switch over to Ingres."

The EasyIngres package for 32-bit Windows systems is available to download and is licensed under the GPL v2.
