In a discussion on the Nokia forums a developer announced an early port of the Pygame modules to the Nokia Series 60 platform. Pygame allows developers to write games in Python by making use of the portable libraries, which can address OpenGL, DirectX, the Linux framebuffer, or even ASCII terminals.

The port to S60 is an early port, and the developer, GameDude, plans to put the sources onto Launchpad as soon as possible. It is also built with minimal extensions, currently only supports .bmp images, and lacks Pygame's font/text support. Despite this, it is an impressive port that could make game development on the Series 60 much easier in the future.
