The chair of the Mozilla Foundation, Mitchell Baker, has called on the Mozilla community to discuss the future role of Mozilla in a changing internet. Conversations are initially planned to take place among key Mozilla leaders and contributors, and will become a public online discussion at a later stage.

Baker says that her aim is to reach a shared understanding of Mozilla’s direction and goals, although, she wrote, the community won’t ever reach perfect agreement. "There will always be cases where some of us will disagree with some of the activities we undertake. Requiring perfect agreement will lead to paralysis. We need excitement, creativity, mutual respect, and shared goals for the nature of the Internet we’re building", added Baker.

The Mozilla Foundation is the non-profit organisation behind the Mozilla Project, best known for its open source Firefox web browser.
