The Debian Project is to dedicate Debian 5.0 "Lenny" to Thiemo Seufer who died in a car accident on December 26th. Seufer was an active contributor to the Debian project; a member of the kernel and installer teams and main supporter of the Debian port to MIPS architectures, he also worked on the MIPS port of the Linux kernel and qemu's MIPS emulation.

The posting on Debian news praised Seufer's contributions saying "Thiemo's work, dedication, broad technical knowledge and ability to share this with others will be missed. The contributions of Thiemo will not be forgotten. The high standards of Thiemo's work make it hard to pick up."

LWN.net have published an obituary for Thiemo Seufer from others who worked with him.
