The Debian project has released a new set of ISO images for the current stable release, Debian Squeeze, as version 6.0.6; this includes all security improvements and bug fixes published online to date. This release marks the sixth point update to the popular Linux distribution since it was originally released in the beginning of 2011.

The release does not add new updates or features to Debian Squeeze and is merely a combination of updates already released for the distribution, making it easier for users to carry out new installs of the distribution without having to download and install these updates manually. Existing installations of Debian are not affected by the release and will already have received the updates through the normal online update mechanism.

Images for Debian 6.0.6 are available from the project's servers and a comprehensive list of bug fixes in the release can be found in the announcement on the Debian web site.
