DebConf 12 The Debian Project has announced that its 2012 developer conference (known as DebConf12) will take place from 8 to 14 July 2012 in Managua, Nicaragua at the Crowne Plaza Convention Center. This twelfth annual event is the first time that DebConf has been held in Central America and, as in previous years, it will include various coding parties, discussions and workshops.

Debian Camp (DebCamp) is a smaller, less formal event aimed at Debian development teams such as debian-installer and debian-edu. It will take place at the same location prior to DebConf, from 1 to 7 July. According to the Project, DebCamp is where the different development teams come together to work on current Debian projects. The organisers note that "only the basic necessities like bed and network connection will be provided".

More details about the event will be added to the DebConf12 Wiki page and the DebConf12 web site when they are available.
