DevCo Logo Only companies can become Symbian Foundation members and therfore play a role in decision-making over future developments in the open source mobile operating system. The Symbian Developer Cooperative (DevCo) has now been founded to ensure that the voices of individual programmers are not ignored.

Because DevCo is a Symbian Foundation member, members of DevCo have the same rights as other Symbian members. By bringing together individual developers, DevCo also hopes to exert influence over the foundation. The group's credo runs, "We plan to be rebellious, loud, challenging, critical and outrageously creative - right at the heart of Symbian governance." Membership is free.
