CloudLinux Logo At the Parallels Summit in Miami, CloudLinux has presented a beta version of its Linux distribution specifically aimed at web hosting services and data centres. The CloudLinux kernel supports the distribution's proprietary Lightweight Virtual Environments (LVE) technology and the distribution also comes with an LVE version of the Apache web server. This is said to allow a system's hardware resources to be allocated to specific individual sites and prevent a hosted site from paralysing an entire server.

A beta of CloudLinux 5.4 is now available to download for 32 and 64-bit systems. The download page also offers a script for an easy migration from CentOS to CloudLinux.
