After having been involved with Mozilla since it was created in 1998, Chris Blizzard has announced he is leaving the company. Most recently, Blizzard has been director of "Web Platform" at the non-profit, a post he took up in 2010 after having been Director of developer relations; in his time at Mozilla, he has done everything from writing code to serving on the board.
Blizzard says he is leaving to join a small startup in Palo Alto that "deals with the intersection of systems, compilers and web-scale problems". The new work is not browser-related but Blizzard says the startup's product "will positively affect the lives of a large number of web developers".
