CeBIT 2010: SEP sesam Backup Appliance

At CeBIT, backup and data recovery specialist SEP AG is, for the first time, showing off its recently announced SEP sesam Backup Appliance (SEP SBA). Initially made available to only a select group of its customers early last month, SEP's backup appliance, powered by SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell, is now officially available. Carlos Montero-Luque, vice president of Business and Product Management at Novell said that "The SUSE Appliance Program enables SEP and other ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) to quickly configure and customise software and virtual appliances".

According to the company, SEP SBA is the first appliance that features backup support for local physical disks, virtual/remote servers and cloud-based solutions and environments. SEP SBA, developed as part of Novell's SUSE Appliance Program, features a browser-based management console and support for Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, Linux and UNIX.
