Zoom Canonical has added photo functions to its cloud storage service

Canonical has added new photo functions to its Ubuntu One cloud storage service. After users log in, the Ubuntu One web site now automatically displays thumbnails of all photos found in their cloud storage in a new "Photos" section. Users can browse the photos or display them as a slideshow.

Once a photo has been opened, additional functions are displayed alongside it, including options for sharing via Twitter or Facebook or creating a download link to share with others. Albums can be organised chronologically or alphabetically (Ubuntu One uses the folder name as the album name).

The Ubuntu One Files app for Android and iOS facilitates images being uploaded to the service from smartphones and tablets (automatically, if required), enabling the online storage service to be used as a backup for mobile devices. Images can then be looked at on a bigger screen with the new photo functions, and shared with friends.
