Camp KDE 2011 schedule announced

Camp KDE Logo The KDE project has published the schedule for this year's Camp KDE conference. The third annual event is co-located with the Linux Foundation's 2011 Collaboration Summit and will take place on the 4th and 5th of April at the Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco, California.

According to Justin Kirby of KDE's Marketing Working Group, Camp KDE 2011 will feature an opening keynote from Linux Foundation Executive Director Jim Zemlin on "The State of the Linux Union". Carol Smith, program administrator for Google Summer of Code and Google Code-in, will give a keynote speech on the second day.

Other confirmed speakers for the 2011 tracks include KDE developers Frank Karlitschek, Romain Pokrzywka and John Layt who will discuss KDE on Mobile, as well as Alvaro Soliverez, Marijn Kruisselbrink and Rob Oakes who will discuss Personal Information Management (PIM). Second day tracks will feature Thiago Macieira and Ariya Hidayat looking at Qt in KDE, and Aleix Pol, Vincent Batts and Knut Yrvin talking about Developing KDE software. Once the talks have concluded, several hacking sessions and discussions will take place.

Registration is free and those interested in attending are advised to register early. This years sponsors include the Linux Foundation, iXsystems, Nokia's Qt, Google and KDE e.V., the non-profit organisation representing the KDE Project in legal and financial matters.
