The data collection and analysis tool Cacti has been updated to version 0.8.7c, over a year since its last release. Cacti needs a PHP capable Web server, a MySQL data base, is a complete front end to RRDTool and includes SNMP support. The program is particularly suitable for the monitoring of networks, servers or other computer systems.

According to the change log and release notes, the new version fixes fixes 89 bugs and adds 46 new features. Cacti now shows the graphical evaluation of a monitored host, with both a preview and detail pages. The developers have also built in search and the automatic generation of version comparisons. A new availability method called "Ping or SNMP", support for RRDTool 1.3 and improved LDAP support have been added. Some errors from the export function and the template system have been fixed.

The version 0.8.7c is currently available to download from the Cacti website.
