The open source Content Management System (CMS) CMS Made Simple has been updated to version 1.6. One of the major focuses of the release was the complete re-working of the content permissions system, resulting in improved flexibility and control over what users are allowed to do with respect to content. The update also features two new frontend themes and several revisions to the included templates and modules. Normally the developers release diff files to allow for easy upgrading, however, in this case the extent of the changes requires that the full packages be downloaded and installed.

More details about the release can be found in the release announcement and the changelog. CMS Made Simple 1.6 is built using PHP and is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. Version 1.6 of CMS Made Simple is available to download and documentation is provided.
