Zoom Bodhi Linux 2.1.0 now uses Enlightenment's native file manager

With the 2.1.0 update release, the developers of the minimal desktop distribution Bodhi Linux have introduced a new file manager, improved the login manager and given users four new themes for their desktop. Bodhi Linux is based on the Enlightenment E17 desktop and the latest version drops the PCManFM file manager in favour of the desktop's own alternative called Enlightenment File Manager (EFM).

The developers point out that this is an update release and therefore does not include many changes, but aside from introducing EFM and new Enlightenment themes, the latest version also updates several applications. LibreOffice 3.6.1 is now included, as are Firefox 15 and Chromium 21. An updated version of the LXDM display manager fixes an issue with spaces in passwords and now supports user lists at the login screen.

More information about all changes in Bodhi Linux 2.1.0 can be found in the project's change log document on Google Docs. Users with existing installations of Bodhi 2.x can update their distribution through the package manager. Live images for 32- and 64-bit systems can be downloaded from the project's SourceForge page.
