Blender Logo The Blender Foundation has announced that registration for 2011 Blender Conference is now open. The 10th annual event will take place from 28 to 30 October at the De Balie in Amsterdam.

This year's event for the open source Blender 3D content creation suite will showcase the past year's achievements – including the first stable Blender 2.5 series – and help plan future versions of the software. The 2010 Blender Conference was host to approximately 250 attendees and the Foundation says that it anticipates even more this year. Like last year, talks in the main theatre will be recorded and published online; last year's talks are available on YouTube.

The conference organisers are currently seeking submissions in three categories: Papers, Presentations and Courses & Workshops. These can include future design or user interface concepts, case studies, hands on technical sessions for developers, and workshops for artists. The submission for deadlines is 30 August; selected applicants will be notified before 5 September. Details on how to submit a presentation can be found on the call for proposals web page.

Registration costs €129 for a three day pass; an early bird discount is available until 15 September. Further information can be found on the Blender Conference web site.
