Bioclipse 2.2 released

Bioclipse in action Zoom
The Bioclipse developers have released version 2.2 of their platform for chemoinformatics and bioinformatics. Based on the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP), Bioclipse uses a Chemistry Development Kit-based back end, JMol for 3D molecule visualisation and BioJava for processing biological data such as molecules and sequences. The software is developed by the Universities of Uppsala (Sweden) and Cologne (Germany).

Among the new features of version 2.2 are a 2D editor for chemical structures developed using the SWT GUI library, a tool for predicting the metabolically active areas of molecules and a new sequence editor.
