The Qt development team is using the Qt Developer Days conference currently taking place in Munich, to release a number of products developed under the Qt brand. Firstly, the first beta version of version 4.6 for the GUI development framework is now available to download. Secondly, there is a beta version of Qt Creator 1.3.0, Nokia's development environment for Qt applications which was released in March. Finally, there is a first beta version of Qt 4.6 for Symbian, which helps port Qt applications to Symbian. Qt 4.6 beta is a revised version of the first Technical Preview and fixes a number of bugs.

Qt is a development framework offering the same functions across seven platforms. It is written in C++ and forms the basis for the open source KDE Linux desktop. Following Nokia's takeover of Trolltech in May, the company released the library under LGPL 2.1 and provided open access to the code repositories.
