Beatbullying, one of the UK's leading bullying prevention charities, and Mozilla have teamed up to launch a new customised build of the Firefox web browser for the CyberMentors project, an online peer-mentoring social networking site. CyberMentors are young people that volunteer their time and provide support, help and advice to others who are experiencing bullying. The CyberMonitors receive training from the Beatbullying staff, including ways to stay safe online and on how to cope with online bullying.

The browser uses a customised CyberMentor Persona skin and features special links buttons and a media player that links directly to CyberMentors audio and video. The browser provides quick access to other CyberMentors content and tools, including online chat with victims of bullying and other CyberMentors. Users can also easily report online bullying and access online safety tips. The charity group hopes that every school in the UK will employ the customised Firefox browser.

Firefox for CyberMentors is based on Firefox 3.0.11 and is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (Direct Downloads). Users that already have Firefox installed can simply install the CyberMentors add-on.
