Bazaar The Bazaar development team have announced the availability of version 2.0.0 of their version control system (VCS). The release includes a number of bug fixes and some stabilisation work.

The latest release of the distributed version control system makes the 2a format, introduced in Bazaar 1.16, the default when new branches or repositories are created. According to the developers, the format is "substantially smaller and faster for most operations". Users updating to the latest release are encouraged to read the provided upgrade guidePDF before migrating their existing projects to 2a.

More details about the release can be found in Bazaar feature overview and on the projects Launchpad page. Bazaar 2.0.0 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the projects web site. Bazaar is licensed under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2) and is supported by Canonical, the founder and sponsor of the Ubuntu project.
