Arnaud Laprévote appointed as Mandriva CEO
The Mandriva board of directors has announced that Arnaud Laprévote has been named as the Chief Executive Officer at Mandriva, formerly known as Mandrakesoft. According to the Linux specialist's press release, Laprévote will also hold the position of Chief Technical Officer and of Director of Research and Development.
Laprévote has previously worked at the Institute of Data Processing for the Technical University of Darmstadt, was head of the digital electronics laboratory at TeleDiffusion of France Research Center, and was the leader of the Advanced Television and Multimedia Group at Thomson Multimedia R&D France. He also holds several patents related to digital electronics and video processing and created Free&ALter Soft, which became Linbox FAS in 2001. Linbox FAS was later purchased by Mandriva in 2007.
Laprévote replaces Mandriva CEO Stanislas Bois, with Bois moving to take up position as the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
