Appweb 3.0 embedded web server released

Appweb logo The Appweb developers have announced the release of version 3.0 of their embedded web server. According to the release announcement, Appweb 3.0 is smaller, more modular and much faster, up to twice as fast for many request processing operations, than previous releases. One of the new capabilities is the server-side Ejscript JavaScript framework which complies with the ECMAscript 3 specification.

The web server only requires 800 Kbytes of memory and is available under Windows XP and above, Linux, Mac OS X, Free BSD, Vxworks and Windows CE. In addition to the source code files, the download section on the project page also offers binary packets for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes. Appweb 3.0 is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2). Embedthis Software, the company that sponsors Appweb, also offers commercial support and licenses for the embedded web server.
