The PCLinuxOS developers have announced the launch of an online Appstore for their free Linux distribution. The distribution's goal is to be "radically simple" and easy to use. Through the Appstore, the developers aim to provide a simple "One Click" solution for users to easily install applications to their systems from the web.

PCLinuxOS otherwise uses APT (Advanced Packaging Tool) the Debian package handler, for application installation and removal. The Appstore (AptURL) is a web front end for APT and using APT all of the Appstore application packages download and install from the official PCLinuxOS repositories via the users browser. The Appstore is currently under construction and development. Interested users can help test and provide feedback for the Appstore by installing the latest version of the Firefox web browser and installing the AptURL Protocol Handler from the Synaptic Software Manager (Synaptic being a GTK+ graphical user interface front-end to the Advanced Packaging Tool).
